Twiinkle, Twinkle Little Star ,,, a Brit Bat Baby Naming and Welcoming

Simchat Bat

Dispute the pouring rain and flood warnings this past Saturday in NYC, the New Shul congregation was singing in the rain and welcoming the newest member of their congregation at the Brit Bat for Lyla Joy, the beautiful baby daughter of their beloved Executive Director.  The Brit Bat ceremony, which translates loosely from Hebrew to English as welcoming the new daughter into the convenant is a modern tradition that is becoming more popular and common among Jewish families who wish to honor, and welcome their daughters as well as their sons (via Brit Milah) into the Jewish community.

Proud Parents and Grandparents participated in a lovely Crafted service with Rabbi Zach and Ellen Gould leading the congregation in songs of welcome and JOY!    Proud big brother Jax whose Brit  Milah (Bris) cuisinEtc catering and events catered 2 years earlier was having the time of his life playing with his cousins and New Shul friends and family.

The food reception that followed allowed guests to mingle, and murmurs of Mazel Tov, Look at that Head of HAIR, and She's Beautiful filled the room with love and admiration.
